A place to play, create and connect after school

After school arts is intended to give children a place to express and explore materials freely and expand their creative ideas through open-ended, process oriented arts explorations. You can expect your children to create things they want to take home and also sometimes just revel in the freedom to make mistakes and learn through materials.

Our philosophy of making and exploring in the arts values listening to children while encouraging inquiry, curiosity and risk-taking. Freedom of expression and to play are central to helping children grow confidence in their art making.

As always, we will utilize Prospect Park and the Studio. The park is alive with inspiration and a healthy place for wondering and playing. The studio is a beautiful space of curated materials, books, light and loose parts. Both are unique spaces where focused project work, community play, music and stories are created and shared.

  • Class fees depend on the number of classes offered for each session.

  • Number of sessions vary depending holiday. We follow the public school calendar for closures.

  • We accept children on a rolling basis throughout each seasonal session.

  • It is okay if you have missed classes. As long as we have space, we are happy to prorate your enrollment when you join.

  • Pick up from PS 154 is a separate registration and the fee is $12 per day. You may purchase all at once or by the day.

  • Registration forms are available to complete at check out of your first class. When registering for subsequent classes you will not be required to repeat these forms. A pdf Medical Form is required to be downloaded and completed once by your child’s physician in order to begin class. This form must be updated annually.

  • If you need to cancel, a full refund is eligible if we are able to replace your spot with a child on the wait list. Otherwise credit policy is as follows:

    4 weeks prior to class: class credit

    1-3 weeks prior: 50% class credit

    0 weeks prior: not eligible for credit
