Our After School Arts & Nature program invites children into the Living Atelier—a classroom that extends from our thoughtfully curated studio into the ever-changing landscape of Prospect Park. Here, the seasons shape our practice, inspiring children to observe closely, explore freely, and build meaningful relationships with the natural world.
Through open-ended explorations in art, nature, and design, children investigate beautiful materials, develop their own ideas, and discover the joy of creating through curiosity, experimentation, and play. Rather than rushing to finished products, projects are often revisited and refined over several weeks, allowing ideas to deepen and evolve over time. Some days children bring home treasured creations; other days, the process itself is the most important work.
Each semester culminates in a child-designed celebration of learning, where the group thoughtfully shares the story of their unique creative journey. Together, children decide how their ideas are best expressed—through an original story play, a short film, an immersive visual installation, or another meaningful presentation that brings their discoveries to life for family and friends.
We believe afternoons should offer children the time and space to slow down, wander, wonder, make, and belong.

Registration forms are available to complete at check out of your first class. When registering for subsequent classes you will not be required to repeat these forms. A pdf Medical Form is required to be downloaded and completed once by your child’s physician in order to begin class. This form must be updated annually.
If you need to cancel, a full refund is eligible if we are able to replace your spot with a child on the wait list. Otherwise credit policy is as follows:
4 weeks prior to class: class credit
1-3 weeks prior: 50% class credit
0 weeks prior: not eligible for credit
If your child falls slightly outside a class’s stated age range, please contact us to request an exception; we review each request and will try to accommodate when appropriate.
Class fees depend on the number of classes offered during each session. The number of sessions offered varies by holiday. We follow the public school calendar for closures.
We accept children on a rolling basis throughout each seasonal session. It is okay if you have missed classes. As long as we have space, we are happy to prorate your enrollment when you join.
Pick up from our participating schools: PS 154 and PS 107 are a separate registration fee available as an add on at check out.
